Growing food has been a passion of mine for
as long as I remember, my journey in food production started
out as a necessity for feeding my family. I think it became
an obsession somewhere along the line. From receiving food
at the food bank to volunteering 30 hours a week at the local
food bank in Tucson Az, To teaching others to grow while doing
my Ameri-corp position with Growing gardens as a mentor of
new gardeners and facilitating workshops in vegetable growing.
To creating a 7000 sq ft children’s garden, to teaching
gardening to children at our local schools. I saw how food,
children and community came together. It's about passion,
so I made it a priority. Now I farm full-time.
In addition to growing on all our farms I continue
to keep my 800 sq ft garden space at Brentwood Community Garden
for my family, as well as maintain my commitment to feeding
those in need by planting vegetables and maintaining a row
for the local food bank.
My educational background is June 2006, Horticulture AAS Clackamas
Community College. Clackamas, OR. Aug 2004, Horticulture Therapy
Certification program, Legacy Emanuel Hospital, Portland,

Hello, I am originally from southern Idaho,
I moved to the Portland area about 6 years ago. I first fell
in love with this area on a vacation during Portland’s
wonderful spring downpour. Everything was so incredibly green
and vibrant. What a beautiful place to grow food and plants.
After several years assisting the public
at a retail garden center, I decided to continue my education
at the area’s top horticulture school, Clackamas Community
College. Less than two years latter, I have my degree!
Organic farming is one of my passions.
Eating food that is fresh, safe and local is imperative. Being
able to provide a sense of community associated with the operation
of growing good foods and eating them, is important. Helping
people realize this goal is an amazing feeling.
